Library Learning Commons Policies
Library Use Guidelines
- Students may borrow a maximum of five (5) library items at any time.
(This does not include textbooks, class novels, or signed-out technology.) - All library materials have a 14-day (two-week) borrowing period.
- Students are expected to:
- Take care of all borrowed materials
- Return or renew items on time
- Food and drinks are not permitted in the library unless permission is granted by Mr. Morrison.
- The computer kiosks are designated for accessing the school library catalogue only.
Borrowing and Renewal
- Students may renew items as many times as needed, provided the item has not been placed on hold by another user.
- Students must return or renew all overdue items before borrowing additional materials.
Student Responsibility for Library Materials
Students are personally responsible for all items borrowed under their account.
This includes:
- Keeping materials in good condition
- Protecting materials from damage, loss, or misuse
- Ensuring items are returned or renewed every two weeks
Overdue, Lost, or Damaged Materials
Failure to meet borrowing expectations may result in the following:
- Overdue Items
- Students may be restricted from borrowing additional materials until items are returned or renewed.
- Lost or Damaged Items
- Items that are lost, declared lost, or returned in significantly damaged condition will require replacement.
Replacement Options:
- Payment of the replacement cost (cash or arranged online through the school office)
- Alternative arrangements may be made in consultation with Mr. Morrison, depending on individual circumstances
French Immersion Expectation
- Students in the French Immersion program are expected to borrow at least one (1) French-language book as part of their selections.
- Flexibility may be discussed with the advisory teacher.
